I didn’t set out to paint the ocean. I set out to paint the feeling of it - that particular stillness that lives at the edge of open water, where the light doesn’t illuminate so much as it arrives, circle by circle, like soft permission. The teal in this work holds two things at once: the depth of living water and the hush of early morning, before the world remembers its noise. It is a color that breathes. The circles are not waves. They are the way peace moves - not in straight lines, not with force, but in gentle, overlapping presence. Each one landing. Each one staying. Dawn of the Infinite is about the exhale. The moment the body releases what it has been quietly carrying. I wanted to make something that didn’t ask to be understood, only felt - a painting that works on you the way a horizon works on you, without effort, without explanation. We spend so much of our lives arriving. This is a painting about already being there.
