Bloom

What is it about joy?
We instinctively seek it—crave it, even—as if our bodies understand that joy is not a luxury, but a lifeline.
The Bloom series was born in a moment like that. It was 2020. Lockdowns and fear had settled over everything like a thick fog. One day, while out on a walk, I noticed the flowers were blooming. A simple observation—but in that quiet moment, my heart lifted. I smiled. And suddenly, I felt an urge I couldn’t ignore: I needed to paint flowers.

What would it look like to paint joy? To give it form, color, and shape?
Neuroscientists have found that our brains are naturally soothed by roundness - that curved shapes help calm the nervous system, while sharp angles activate the fear response. The brain knows what the heart already feels: curves are comforting.
And so, Bloom began - first as an impulse, then as a quiet rebellion against fear. Over time, it became a joyful meditation on beauty, rhythm, and repetition. Colorful circles dance and overlap in layers, echoing nature’s gentler patterns.
It’s also the most intricate and demanding series I’ve ever created. Each painting, no matter the size, completely consumes me - requiring intense focus, patience, and care.
When I share a piece from this series, it’s more than just posting a painting. It’s offering soft edges to a sharp world.
Even though it's hard, it feels sacred. Letting joy bloom - especially when it’s needed most - is a calling I will always answer.
